Economists predict rates will hold steady (or edge up), so any affordability gains will depend on whether prices level out or incomes rise. Here in Calgary, our market is unique\u2014what\u2019s happening in Vancouver or Toronto doesn\u2019t always reflect what buyers and sellers experience in our city or in Edmonton. Slower population growth may help cool demand, potentially easing price pressure, while an improving job market could give household incomes a boost. But as always, lasting affordability gains will require a careful balance.
